Deputy Director, Continental Integration
Position Overview
The incumbent will be responsible for facilitating the employment of Zimbabwean nationals in regional and international bodies.
Responsibilities
Contribute in the formulation, implementation and review of policies governing relations with the African Union (AU) and its institutions in line with the Ministry’s strategic plan as well as national development aspirations
Advise senior management on best policy options for Zimbabwe in order to promote, foster and enhance African integration
Co-ordinate Zimbabwe’s participation in AU activities such as the AU systems
Mobilize moral, political and diplomatic support for Zimbabwe within the African Union and its member states
Advocate for the employment of Zimbabwean nationals in key positions of multilateral institutions/bodies
Facilitate the employment of Zimbabwean nationals in regional and international bodies
Coordinate Zimbabwe’s ratification of regional and multilateral conventions and agreements
Supervise the preparation of briefs, speeches, statements, messages, policy and position papers for use during continental meetings
Supervise, coach and counsel subordinates.
Qualifications
A Social Science Degree with a bias in International Relations and Economics
A relevant Master’s Degree would be an added advantage
At least 6 years experience in the Administrative Officer or equivalent grade.
