Deputy Director, Sectoral Coordination

Position Overview

Contributing to the formulation, implementation and review of sectoral coordination policies /strategies in line with the Ministry’s mandate, Strategic plan as well as national development agenda. Developing frameworks to ensure that Ministries, Departments and Agencies implement sectoral action plans as agreed. Representing Treasury in sector meetings related to policy development, planning, budgeting and budget implementation, including Sector Working Groups and Joint Sector reviews.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the formulation, implementation and review of sectoral coordination policies /strategies in line with the Ministry’s mandate, Strategic plan as well as national development agenda
Develop frameworks to ensure that Ministries, Departments and Agencies implement sectoral action plans as agreed
Represent Treasury in sector meetings related to policy development, planning, budgeting and budget implementation, including Sector Working Groups and Joint Sector reviews
Establish and maintain regular communication with the development partner community to disseminate information on current and planned intervention
Monitor, analyze and evaluate recurrent and development budget expenditure
Coordinate the mobilization of resources as part of the integrated support to capacity development of Technical Working Group sectoral functions
Coordinate capacity building initiatives for members in the Unit
Coordinate the production of reports on development assistance
Maintain an updated database of development partner programmes through the Development Projects Management Information Systems (DEVPROMIS)
Supervise, counsel and coach staff within the Section.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Fiscal Studies or equivalent
A relevant Master’s Degree is an added advantage
At least six(6) years relevant experience at Economist/Officer level or equivalent grade
Knowledge of regulations and procedures in Government
Knowledge of Public Finance Management Systems (PFMS)
A thorough understanding of National Development policies, priorities and goals

Ability to use information communication technology in the development, monitoring and evaluation of sectoral coordination policies and strategies.
