Scrum Master

Position Overview

The Scrum Master facilitates the implementation of the Scrum framework, serving as a coach and servant leader to the team. This role ensures adherence to Agile principles and practices, proactively removes impediments, and fosters collaboration to maximize productivity and deliver value.

Responsibilities

Organize and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective, ensuring they are conducted efficiently and within designated timeframes
Ensure the team comprehensively understands and adheres to Scrum theory, values, and practices, providing coaching on Agile principles and fostering self-organization
Proactively identify and remove internal and external impediments that hinder the team's progress, enabling them to focus on delivering maximum value
Coach the Scrum team, Product Owner, and other stakeholders on Scrum and Agile practices, facilitating their continuous improvement and process optimization
Cultivate a collaborative and high-performing team environment by promoting effective communication, conflict resolution, and informed decision-making
Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to ensure the Product Backlog is effectively prioritized and well-groomed, and that the team possesses a clear understanding of the product vision and goals
Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement within the team and the organization, promoting a culture of experimentation and learning from past experiences
Protect the team from external interference and distractions, ensuring they have the necessary autonomy and resources to perform their best work
Encourage and facilitate seamless cross-functional collaboration between developers, testers, designers, and business stakeholders
Promote Lean and Agile thinking to enable teams to deliver value more rapidly while maintaining high-quality standards
Advocate for Agile principles across the organization, providing education and guidance to leadership and stakeholders on Agile methodologies
Identify risks and dependencies early and collaborate with teams to mitigate potential blockers proactively.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
Relevant professional certifications, such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I, II), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), are considered a significant advantage
A minimum of three to five years of proven experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or in a similar role.

Skills

Demonstrated experience in business and systems analysis
Comprehensive experience with Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework
Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to contribute to the development of effective application software/solutions
Proficiency in process and system design utilizing CASE tools, such as UML and Microsoft Project
Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with database design, data modeling, and query optimization
Practical experience in software development using modern programming languages, including Java, PHP, ASP.NET, C#, and Python
Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to function effectively as a collaborative team player within cross-functional teams.
