Deputy Director, Policy Coordination

Position Overview

Participate in the formulation of Government policies to ensure policy coherence and consistency; Design the systems for the policy coordination process to eliminate inconsistencies, duplications, and redundant efforts in liaison with the Cabinet Secretariat; Work in partnership with independent Think Tanks to strengthen the depth of the policy coordination process; Participate in negotiations for international financial facilities as well as cooperation agreements with development partners.

Responsibilities

Participate in the formulation of Government policies to ensure policy coherence and consistency
Design the systems for the policy coordination process to eliminate inconsistencies, duplications, and redundant efforts in liaison with the Cabinet Secretariat
Work in partnership with independent Think Tanks to strengthen the depth of the policy coordination process
Participate in negotiations for international financial facilities as well as cooperation agreements with development partners
Participate in programmes of the National Economic Consultative Forum (NECF), the private international business and financial institutions
Contribute to the formulation of multilateral programmes to ensure that they reflect national interests and priorities
Develop and maintain an updated database of macro-economic indicators, Government policies and programmes.

Qualifications

A Degree in Social Science with a bias in Public Policy and Public Administration
Possession of a Master’s Degree with a bias in Public Policy and Public Administration
A minimum of six (6) years of experience in the Administrative Officer or equivalent grade in the Public Service.

Skills

Thorough understanding of Public Policy with strong analytical skills and experience in Government policy formulation, implementation and coordination
Interpersonal skills and experience in research work
Ability to interact and communicate with stakeholders at all levels
Must be mature and able to handle confidential Information
Ability to employ information communication technology in policy coordination and related decision areas.
