Deputy Director, Land Use Planning

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the formulation, implementation and review of policies, regulations and guidelines on land use planning in line with the Ministry’s strategic plan and National Development imperatives
• Develop and implement strategies that promote effective land use practices
• Recommend Farm Subdivision viability and Resettlement suitability in line with enabling legislation
• Manage researches on new land use planning technologies
• Coordinate the review and approval process for land development projects, including site plans, subdivisions, and rezoning requests
• Coordinate the assessment of environmental impacts associated with land use projects
• Facilitate the development of collaborative partnerships on land use planning with relevant Line Ministries, Government Departments, Non-State entities and other stakeholders
• Manage the analysis of data related to land use patterns, demographics, economic trends, and other relevant factors
• Coordinate production of technical Land Use Planning Manuals
• Participate in the development of budgets and funding strategies for the Department’s operations and Public Sector Investment Programmes (PSIP)
• Develop and maintain database on land use for all agricultural land
• Supervise, coach and counsel subordinates
