Deputy Director, Arts, Infrastructure,Development & Management

Position Overview

Contribute to the formulation, evaluation and review of policies for arts infrastructure development and management in line with the Ministry's strategic plan and national development aspirations; Provide for effective implementation of strategies for planned projects to ensure that contracted firms meet their contractual obligation

Responsibilities

Coordinate the processes of securing permits and licenses from relevant authorities and the negotiations of contracts with external arts infrastructure providers
Manage the conduct of research and oversight surveys on arts infrastructure development and management throughout the country
Coordinate the maintenance of arts infrastructure in the Ministry
Facilitate negotiations for Public Private Partnerships with other actors in arts infrastructure development and management
Coordinate the maintenance of arts infrastructure in the Ministry
Coordinate the development of budgets and funding strategies on arts infrastructure development and management programmes
Manage a database for the maintenance of records for arts infrastructure development and management
Supervise, counsel and coach subordinance

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Project Management/ Estates Management or equivalent
A relevant Master's degree is an added advantage
Should have at least six (6) years relevant experience in the Officer Grade or equivalent.

Skills

Ability to establish performance metrics, track progress and deliver comprehensive reports for accountability and continous improvement
Competence in identifying risks, addressing barriers to project implementation and devising innovative solutions to achieve objectives
Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards in the arts infrastructure development and management field
Ability to employ information communication technology in arts infrastructure development and management and related decision areas
