Provincial Registrar

Position Overview

Coordinate the implementation of Civil Registry policies, strategies and programs at Provincial level; Manage the processing and issuance of various civil registrations such as Birth and Death Certificates, Citizenship, Passports, National Registrations (IDs) and Marriages and Brands in the Province; Advise members of the public in the Province on various matters with regards to documents acquisition in accordance with the law.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the implementation of Civil Registry policies, strategies and programs at Provincial level
Manage the processing and issuance of various civil registrations such as Birth and Death Certificates, Citizenship, Passports, National Registrations (IDs) and Marriages and Brands in the Province
Advise members of the public in the Province on various matters with regards to documents acquisition in accordance with the law
Liaise with District Registries, Central Registry and other Government Departments on registration matters in the Province
Co-ordinate the activities of District Registries and Sub-Offices within the Province
Prepare estimates of Expenditure for the Province for onward submission to Central Registry
Submit monthly returns and progress reports for the Province to Central Registry
Manage and account for the human, material and financial resources assigned to the Province.

Qualifications

A Social Science Degree or equivalent
A Master’s Degree is an added advantage
At least 2 years experience as Registrar/District Registrar
Have complete knowledge of various Acts which governs civil registrations such as Birth and Death, Citizenship, Marriages and Brands, National Registrations and the issuance of passports.
