District Schools Inspector
Position Overview
The incumbent will be responsible for superintending over the monitoring and evaluation of the School governance systems in the District and ensure that they are in accordance with the Ministry’s Regulations, Procedures and Circulars;
Responsibilities
Superintend over the monitoring and evaluation of the School governance systems in the District and ensure that they are in accordance with the Ministry’s Regulations, Procedures and Circulars
Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of educational programmes and projects in Schools in the District
Develop and manage systems for effective communication of policies, implementation of circulars and other decentralized guidelines as approved by the Ministry
Manage a monitoring system to ensure that the approved curriculum is implemented in schools in the District
Superintend over the submission of term reports on Public Sector Investment Programmes (PSIPs) and related programmes in the District as well as timely submission of Educational Management Information System (EMIS) data
Liaise with the Ministries of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation and Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage in issues related to the promotion of sports, arts and culture in Schools in the District
Coordinate in-service training and professional staff development programmes for School Heads, Deputy Heads, Teachers and School Development Committees in the District
Coordinate the induction and monitoring of School Development Committees including overseeing School Development Committees Annual General Meetings
Develop and manage systems to eliminate corruption in the Ministry’s operations at school, cluster and District levels
Contribute to the development of budgets and funding strategies for the district
Submit Results Based Management compliant District monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the Provincial Education Director
Supervise coach and counsel subordinates
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Education (ECD/Primary/ Secondary Education), Educational Administration, Planning and Policy Studies (EAPPS), Education Management, Special Education
A Masters Degree with a bias in Education is an added advantage
At least 2 years experience in the grade of Schools Inspector or equivalent
