Provincial Director

Position Overview

Contribute to the formulation, implementation and review of rural infrastructure development policies and strategies in line with the Agency’s mandate and national development aspirations; Oversee the development of systems to ensure that policies, regulations and laid down instructions are observed and complied with within the Province; Coordinate and direct all operations of the Agency within the Province.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the formulation, implementation and review of rural infrastructure development policies and strategies in line with the Agency’s mandate and national development aspirations
Oversee the development of systems to ensure that policies,regulations and laid down instructions are observed and complied with within the Province
Coordinate and direct all operations of the Agency within the Province
Oversee the proper utilisation of the Agency’s assets and other resources
Coordinate the implementation of RIDA’s projects and programmes within the Province
Liaise with other Government departments at Provincial level in issues related to rural infrastructure development
Coordinate the production of timely reports and updates of all activities within the Province
Supervise and appraise subordinates.

Qualifications

A Social Science Degree in Public Administration and Management, Development Planning, Development Studies, relevant Engineering degree or any equivalent
Possession of a relevant Master’s degree in any of the above fields is a distinct advantage
At least two (2) years at Deputy Director Level or equivalent
A thorough understanding of National Development policies, priorities and goals.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with internal and external partners with limited supervision
Possess good leadership qualities
Ability to make sound and good judgement
Must be prepared to travel widely in the Province
Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
Ability to use information communication technology in provincial coordination and related decision areas.
