Deputy Director, Policy Development

Position Overview

Contribute to the development of investment policies and regulations that align with national economic goals and fiscal strategies; Coordinate research on investments trends and make recommendations where necessary; Manage economic forecasting efforts by analyzing investment data and trends, ensuring the Ministry remains proactive in policy formulation

Responsibilities

Contribute to the development of investment policies and regulations that align with national economic goals and fiscal strategies
Coordinate research on investments trends and make recommendations where necessary
Manage economic forecasting efforts by analyzing investment data and trends, ensuring the Ministry remains proactive in policy formulation
Coordinate data analysis to provide evidence-based recommendations for policy initiatives
Liaise with government Ministries, Departments and Agencies and external stakeholders, including private sector representatives and non-governmental organizations to gather insights and build consensus on investment coordination policy matters
Compile reports and presentations for senior leadership and policymakers, clearly articulating investment issues and proposed policies
Supervise, coach and counsel subordinates.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Public Finance Management or equivalent
A relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage
At least six (6) years' experience in investment policy development or economic analysis.

Skills

Analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in statistical analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Familiarity with relevant software and data analysis tools
Experience in public finance or economic policy within a governmental context
Understanding of international financial regulations and practices
Ability to employ information communication technologies in investment policy coordination programmes/projects and related decision areas
