Deputy Director, Labour Market Information System

Position Overview

Develop and establish a comprehensive and reliable central repository for Labour Market Information Management in the Ministry; Manage the collection and collation of information on labour from various stakeholders for digital storage; Facilitate information exchange with other government Ministries, Departments and Agencies

Responsibilities

Develop and establish a comprehensive and reliable central repository for Labour Market Information Management in the Ministry
Manage the collection and collation of information on labour from various stakeholders for digital storage
Facilitate information exchange with other government Ministries, Departments and Agencies
Supervise and monitor the capturing, analysis and management of data in the Labour Market Information System
Facilitate the provision of electronic service to beneficiaries and other stakeholders
Liaise with various Development Partners and other Government Departments/ stakeholders on the Labour Market Information System
Prepare reports on Labour Market trends and forecasts
Supervise, coach and counsel subordinates

Qualifications

A degree in Statistics, Labour Economics, Social Sciences, Industrial Relations or equivalent
A relevant Masters degree in the above mentioned field(s) is an added advantage
At least six (6) years experience in the Officer grade or equivalent

Skills

Ability to work under pressure
Proficiency in statistical software and data visualization/analysis tools
Communication and presentation skills
Familiarity with labour market policies and economic trends
Good analytical skills
A high degree of maturity, self-discipline, initiative and creativity
Knowledge of Public Service Regulations and Procedures
Ability to communicate at all levels
Must be highly assertive
