Role Overview
1. Contribute to the formulation of Information Communication Technology (ICT) policies and strategies in line with the Ministry’s mandate and national development imperatives.; 2. Coordinate the rollout of ICT equipment for Lands Information Management System (LIMS), Geographic Information System (GIS), Rural Development Management Information Systems, and other digital systems.; 3. Oversee the procurement, installation, configuration, and regular auditing of all ministry ICT hardware, servers, and peripheral devices.; 4. Schedule routine preventive maintenance and plan continuous technological upgrades to keep hardware aligned with modern industry standards.; 5. Coordinate preventive maintenance and servicing of ICT equipment across the Ministry.; 6. Coordinate helpdesk and support teams to provide timely solutions and troubleshoot hardware faults for ministry personnel.; 7. Coordinate in-house ICT etiquette and user training; 8. Implement hardware security controls.; 9. Supervise, coach and counsel subordinates.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management and Information Technology, or equivalent.
- A relevant Master’s degree in the aforementioned field(s) is an added advantage.
- A minimum of six (6) years experience at Officer Grade level or equivalent.
- Understanding of networking infrastructure, hardware, and operating systems.
- Familiarity with ICT governance frameworks (such as ISO 20000/ISO standards).
- Working knowledge or appreciation of database systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP BASIS) where applicable.
