Role Overview

Superintend over the management and operation of the college in accordance with Ministry policies, strategies and regulations as guided by national development imperatives. Coordinate programmes on Agricultural Education in the College in line with Agricultural Education Departmental plans and Ministry's strategic plans. Recommend the review of curricula and syllabi for Farmer Certificate, Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels to the Director in line with developments in the sector and national development priorities. Provide for effective asset and materials management in the college in accordance with Treasury Instructions and Ministry Guidelines on movable and immovable assets, training consumables and materials. Oversee the administration/management of examinations, tests and other assessment processes for student learning at the college. Provide effective leadership to the Agricultural College's staff and students through effective supervision of staff and management of student affairs. Oversee agricultural research programmes and projects and the identification and implementation of college income generation projects. Oversee students' development in both Curricula and Co-curricula programmes/ activities through the provision of a conducive learning environment and enforcement of college code of ethics/ conduct and rules governing their general welfare. Spearhead the development of budgets and funding strategies in the institution. Supervise, coach and counsel subordinates.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A first degree in Agriculture or equivalent.
  • A Masters' Degree is an added advantage.
  • At least two (2) years relevant experience as a Vice Principal or equivalent grade.
  • Sound knowledge of current National Development policies, Programmes and Priorities.
  • Proficiency in designing, implementing, and evaluating agricultural training programs.
  • Familiarity with examination protocols and quality assurance processes to maintain high standards.
