DEPUTY DIRECTOR, NON-FORMAL EDUCATION

Role Overview
The incumbent will report to Director, Non-Formal Education and will be responsible for participating in the formulation and review of policies relating to the Secondary Education System in line with the Ministry’s mandate, strategic plan as well as national development aspirations, monitor the implementation of policies related to the Secondary Education system, identify and recommend areas of research that improve the quality of Secondary Education in the country, coordinate the implementation of relevant curriculum for the Secondary Education system, oversee and monitor the equitable allocation of Lower Sixth form places to O-Level graduates, manage and provide the link between the Ministry and participating countries in the Guest Teacher Programmes in order to foster productive multicultural relations, coordinate the registration of secondary schools in line with the Education Act and develop and maintain a database of all registered Secondary schools in the country.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A degree in Education or equivalent
- A Master’s degree in Education or equivalent is an added advantage
- At least six (6) years relevant experience at Education Research Officer Grade or, At least two (2) years experience at School Head or equivalent grade
- Be familiar with the Education Act and Education policies
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
- Well developed communication and analytical skills
- Management and supervisory skills
- Ability to use information communication technology in the development, monitoring and evaluation of secondary education policies and strategies
