Role Overview
1. Recommend formulation and/or reviews of ICT policies, programmes and procedures in line with current trends national Development priorities and imperatives.
2. Manage the maintenance of all ICT network systems.
3. Provide astute data management service for the Ministry through professional backup plans and disaster recovery service so as to enhance business continuity controls.
4. Conduct research on solutions to emerging ICT systems security threats and keep the Department abreast with new trends in Information and Communication Technology.
5. Schedule upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems.
6. Co-ordinate general ICT training and ICT security and etiquette training of all Ministry ICT users.
7. Implement robust physical and logical controls, that is; creation and maintenance of user accounts, data encryption, profiling, strong passwords, CCTVs and biometric solutions among others.
8. Provide appropriate and timely ICT solutions and responses to Ministry’s operational process challenges.
9. Manage the regular infrastructure audits and identify areas that need improvement as well as continuously upgrade hardware and software technologies in line with global trends.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A degree in any of the following areas: Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Business Management and Information Technology or Information System.
- Possession of a Master’s degree in the above mentioned field(s) is an added advantage.
- A minimum of six (6) years relevant professional experience at Officer Level or equivalent grade.
- Experiential Knowledge or an appreciation of SAP BASIS OR ORACLE DBA/Developer would be considered.
- An understanding of ISO 2000 requirements for ICT governance advisory services.
- Knowledge of networking, PC maintenance and repair.
- Ability to relate at highest level in the industry.
- A smart and strategic thinker.
- Possess good leadership skills.
- A character of integrity.
