Chief Director, Policy Analysis and Coordination

Role Overview

Superintend over the formulation of policies across Government with a view to eliminate inconsistencies, duplications and redundant efforts; Oversee the planning and execution of cross cutting national priorities and outcomes in collaboration with the agencies responsible for planning and finance; Coordinate the formulation of multilateral programmes to ensure that they reflect national interests and priorities; Foster collaboration with Line Ministries and other Government Departments in the formulation of Sectoral policies; Engage the private sector on issues of national development; Participate in negotiations for international financial facilities as well as cooperation agreements with development partners such as UNDP; Participate in the programmes of the National Economic Consultative Forum (NECF), the private international business and financial institutions; Manage an updated database of Government policies and programmes. 9. Supervise, coach and counsel subordinates.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Masters degree in Social Science with a bias in Economics, Development Planning, Public Administration or Public Policy
  • Possession of a higher qualification is an added advantage
  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in policy analysis and coordination, of which two (2) must be at Director Level or equivalent grade
  • Ability to collect, analyse and interpret data using statistical and analytical tools to guide evidence based decision making
  • Expertise in designing development policies and strategic frameworks that align with national priorities and foster sustainable growth
  • Proficiency in conceptualizing development programmes and structuring projects that contributes to measurable developmental outcomes
  • Ability to interact and communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Must be mature and able to handle confidential Information
  • Policy Formulation, Analysis and Coordination skills
  • Ability to employ information communication technology in policy analysis and coordination and related decision areas.
