Role Overview
Coordinate the development, implementation and maintenance of ICT security policies, standards and guidelines in line with the Ministry’s mandate, strategic plan and national development imperatives; Collaborate with Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies to ensure compliance with relevant ICT related laws, regulations and policies; Provide strategic guidance on information security best practices;
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate periodic information systems audits across Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies; Provide awareness and training on information security policies, standards and procedures; Monitor, identify and respond to information security incidents, monitor trends and submit reports to the Chief Director; Coordinate with regional and international agencies on information security; Supervise, coach and counsel subordinates; rn
Requirements & Qualifications
A degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Informatics or equivalent; A Master’s degree in the aforementioned field is an added advantage; Relevant IT related certification is an added advantage; At least six (6) years experience in the Officer grade or equivalent; Knowledge of project management; Expertise in implementing and managing cyber security frameworks;
Required Skills
Proficiency in identifying vulnerabilities, assessing risks, and deploying mitigation strategies to protect sensitive information
rnDeep understanding of Access Control and Authentication Management methodologies, encryption algorithms, cryptology, database and enterprise information security architecture
rnKnowledge of Firewall and intrusion detection/prevention protocols
